Hecht is a Gothenburg-based EBM band that carries on the legacy of classic European body music. With clear roots in pioneers such as DAF, Spetnaz and Menticide, Hecht delivers an uncompromising and powerful sound in which driving, straight-ahead drums meet grinding, repetitive basslines.
The music is characterised by raw energy and a physical presence, spiced with electronic melodies and atmospheric soundscapes that create both intensity and depth. The lyrics do not shy away from tackling serious subjects and critique the present day with a sharp, sometimes uncomfortable, but always honest voice. Here we find both criticism and reflection, conveyed with the cool precision of classic EBM aesthetics.
Behind the project are Andreas Hellius and Erik Ångman, who together create a sound characterised by simplicity, power and discipline. Hecht is EBM without any frills; it’s raw, direct and uncompromising.
